MADRID : Real Madrid fined midfielders Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni 500,000 euros ($567,000) each on Friday following a dressing-room altercation at the club’s training ground that reportedly left Valverde with a head injury.
Club sources said the incident occurred on Thursday at Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training complex, where the pair were involved in a fight during training.
Valverde, who captains the side, was taken to hospital with a cut to his head before later being discharged, according to the sources.
The club has not officially commented on the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
