PAMPLONA : FC Barcelona moved to the brink of retaining the LaLiga title after late goals secured a 2-1 victory over CA Osasuna.
Strikes from Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres in the final 10 minutes sealed the win, lifting Barcelona to 88 points—14 clear of Real Madrid, who have a game in hand.
Barcelona could be crowned champions for the second successive season if Real Madrid fail to win their next match.
After a tightly contested encounter, Barcelona broke the deadlock in the 81st minute when Marcus Rashford delivered a precise cross for Lewandowski to head home.
Five minutes later, Fermin Lopez set up Torres, who calmly slotted past goalkeeper Sergio Herrera to double the lead.
Raul Garcia pulled one back late for Osasuna, but the hosts were unable to complete a comeback.
Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia played a crucial role, producing several key saves to deny Ante Budimir and Ruben Garcia as Osasuna threatened throughout the match.
“We’ve now put the pressure on Real Madrid,” Torres said. “If they don’t win, we’ll be crowned champions.”
The result leaves Barcelona within touching distance of back-to-back league titles after a resilient and clinical performance on the road.
