Sanya : Qatar’s beach handball team completed the group stage with a perfect record after a 2-0 (26-12, 18-16) win over Maldives secured top spot in Group B.
The victory extended Qatar’s unbeaten run in the competition, with earlier wins over Pakistan, Oman, Bangladesh, Mongolia, Jordan and Thailand underlining their dominance.
Qatar will face Bahrain in the semi-finals, while Iran take on Thailand in the other last-four clash.
Player Abdulrazzaq Murad said reaching the semi-finals was a reflection of the team’s preparation and effort.
“Qualifying for the semi-finals reflects the hard work we have put in and the strong preparation leading into the tournament,” he said.
