DOHA: Qatar’s national beach handball team will face Thailand on Sunday, in a crucial group-stage match at the Asian Beach Games – Sanya 2026.
The defending champions will aim to secure qualification for the semifinals.
Qatar had defeated Bangladesh and Mongolia, and then defeating Jordan to top the group with 10 points from five consecutive wins.
The competition draw placed Qatar in a strong group alongside Oman, Jordan, Pakistan, Maldives, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Mongolia, making consistent performance essential—something the team has successfully maintained.
Sunday’s match is particularly important as it will confirm their group leadership and determine their path in the knockout rounds, before concluding the group stage against Maldives on Monday.
The semifinals are scheduled for Tuesday, with the final set to take place on Thursday, as Qatar aims to continue its winning run and move closer to the title.
