Arizona, USA : Napheesa Collier is set to remain with the Minnesota Lynx after agreeing to a one-year supermax contract worth $1.4 million, ESPN reported on Thursday.
When finalised, Collier will join Kelsey Mitchell of the Indiana Fever and A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces as the only players in the league on supermax deals.
The 29-year-old forward, a two-time MVP runner-up, averaged 22.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 33 games during the 2025 season despite battling injuries, finishing second in MVP voting to Wilson for the second consecutive year.
Collier also made history by recording a 50-40-90 shooting season, hitting 53.1% from the field, 40.3% from three-point range and 90.6% from the free-throw line, becoming the first player to achieve the milestone while averaging more than 20 points per game.
Her campaign was disrupted by injuries, including a right ankle issue in August and a season-ending left ankle injury during the playoffs, where Minnesota lost in five games to the Phoenix Mercury in the semifinals.
Entering her eighth season since being drafted sixth overall in 2019, Collier is expected to miss the start of the upcoming campaign following surgery on both ankles.
Minnesota have also retained Courtney Williams and Kayla McBride, while several players, including Alanna Smith, departed in free agency.
