Suzuka, Japan : Racing Bulls are preparing a rapid double upgrade push as they look to strengthen their position in the Formula One midfield battle following calendar disruptions.
Team boss Alan Permane explained that cancelled races in the Middle East reshaped the schedule, bringing the Miami Grand Prix forward to round four. As a result, an upgrade originally planned for Bahrain will now debut in Miami, with a second package arriving shortly after at the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.
The unusual timing means Racing Bulls will introduce a major update and then quickly evolve it again within a race or two — a “double hit” strategy forced by the revised calendar.
Currently seventh in the standings, Racing Bulls sit just two points behind sister team Red Bull Racing and Alpine, and four behind Haas, forming a tight midfield group behind the leading teams.
With drivers Arvid Lindblad and Liam Lawson, the team has scored points in every race so far, showing strong qualifying pace but struggling to maintain competitiveness over full race distances.
Permane remains optimistic that the upcoming upgrades — combined with extra development time due to fewer April races — will help Racing Bulls move from the lower end of the midfield into a more competitive position in the races ahead.
