In Stuttgart, seventh seed Karolina Muchova defeated Aliaksandra Sasnovic 6-2, 6-4, while eighth seed Ekaterina Alexandrova cruised past Gabriela Knutson 6-2, 6-2.
Elsewhere, Elise Mertens, Leylah Fernandez, Eva Lys, and Diana Shnaider all progressed, with Shnaider now set to face top seed Elena Rybakina in the next round.
