Chennai : Kolkata Knight Riders remain without a win in the Indian Premier League, with marquee signing Cameron Green yet to find form.
The two-time champions slumped to a 32-run defeat against Chennai Super Kings, marking their fourth loss of the season and leaving them bottom of the table with just one point.
Green, who became the franchise’s most expensive overseas recruit, has struggled to justify his price tag, managing only 56 runs in five innings. In the latest match, he endured a difficult outing—conceding 30 runs in two overs without taking a wicket and falling for a first-ball duck.
Bowling coach Tim Southee backed the all-rounder to bounce back, noting his limited match practice following a recent injury layoff.
Kolkata’s problems have been compounded by injuries to Harshit Rana and Akash Deep, while Mustafizur Rahman has been unavailable. They are also awaiting the return of Matheesha Pathirana.
Despite some positives, including a solid spell from Kartik Tyagi, Kolkata will need quick improvements if they are to revive their campaign.
