Minnesota, USA : The Minnesota Timberwolves leaned on their young players and reserves to secure a 132-126 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans in their regular-season finale.
Rookie standout Joan Beringer led the way with an impressive 24 points and 13 rebounds, while Terrence Shannon Jr. added 26 points. Contributions also came from Zyon Pullin (19 points) and veteran Joe Ingles, who recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists.
For New Orleans, Jeremiah Fears scored a game-high 36 points, while Derik Queen dominated inside with 30 points and 22 rebounds. Micah Peavy chipped in with 21 points.
Already locked into the No. 6 seed, Minnesota rested several key players including Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert and Julius Randle. They will now face the Denver Nuggets, who secured the No. 3 seed, in the playoffs.
The Pelicans, missing stars like Zion Williamson, fought hard late but could not overcome Minnesota’s balanced scoring and composure down the stretch.
