HYDERABAD: Rishabh Pant starred with an unbeaten 68, leading from the front after a brilliant spell by pacer Mohammed Shami helped Lucknow Super Giants secure a comfortable five-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Sunday’s IPL clash.
Shami set the tone early with an impressive 2/9, removing openers Abhishek Sharma (0) and Travis Head (7) to put Hyderabad under immediate pressure.
Despite the early setbacks, Heinrich Klaasen (62 off 41 balls) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (56 off 33 balls) rebuilt the innings with a crucial 116-run partnership for the fifth wicket, pushing SRH to a competitive 156 for nine.
In response, Aiden Markram (45) and Pant steadied the chase against the SRH bowling attack. Pant, in particular, displayed a composed and responsible approach, curbing his natural aggression to guide his team home with ease.
