Sweden national football team, Turkey national football team and Czech Republic national football team booked their places at the 2026 FIFA World Cup 2026 after winning their respective European playoff finals on Tuesday.
Türkiye secured a narrow 1-0 win over Kosovo national football team in Path C, with Kerem Aktürkoğlu scoring the decisive goal in the 54th minute to send his side to the finals for the first time since 2002.
They will compete in Group D alongside the United States men’s national soccer team, Paraguay national football team and Australia national soccer team.
Sweden also advanced after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Poland national football team in Path B. Goals from Anthony Elanga, Gustaf Lagerbielke and Viktor Gyökeres sealed the win, while Nicola Zalewski and Karol Świderski scored for Poland.
Sweden will feature in Group F alongside the Netherlands national football team, Japan national football team and Tunisia national football team.
Czechia also confirmed their qualification, completing the lineup of European playoff winners.
The expanded 48-team World Cup will be held across United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
