A stunning knock from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi lit up the Indian Premier League as Rajasthan Royals thrashed Chennai Super Kings by chasing down 128 in just 12.1 overs in Guwahati on Sunday.
The 15-year-old prodigy stole the show with a blistering 15-ball half-century, setting the tone for a dominant run chase. Rajasthan raced to 127/2 in 12 overs, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Riyan Parag guiding the team home comfortably.
Earlier, CSK struggled badly with the bat and were bowled out for 127 in 19.4 overs after a top-order collapse. Nandre Burger struck twice in two balls during the powerplay, removing key batters including Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Ravindra Jadeja added to CSK’s woes with two wickets in an over, while Jofra Archer also picked up a brace.
The only resistance came from Jamie Overton, whose 43 helped CSK reach a modest total.
But the target proved far too small once Sooryavanshi unleashed his fearless strokeplay, sealing a massive victory for Rajasthan with nearly eight overs to spare.
