Goiania (Brazil): The major change for the 2026 season takes the second slot of the campaign, where Argentina disappears and the Brazilian GP returns to the championship after a 22-year absence.
The event will be held on 20-22 March at the Ayrton Senna Autodrome in Goiania.
It marks the first MotoGP race in Brazil in over 20 years; the last one was held in 2004 in Rio de Janeiro.
The return is part of a five-year agreement (2026–2030) between MotoGP promoter and Brazilian organizers.
But if Buriram was unpredictable enough, Brazil could prove even more so as the 22-rider field gear up to take on a venue that’s completely new to each and every one of them.
Brazil is one of the largest motorsport markets in the world, so MotoGP wants a stronger presence in South America.
The Goiânia circuit has been resurfaced and upgraded to meet modern MotoGP safety standards. The race is the second round of the 2026 MotoGP season, right after the opener in Thailand.
After the opening round, rising star Pedro Acosta arrived in Brazil as the championship leader, adding extra attention to the comeback race.
