DOHA: Al Sadd are preparing for a crucial clash against Umm Salal in the 18th week of the Doha Bank Stars League 2025–2026 season, though head coach Roberto Mancini will not be present for the match after flying home to attend to urgent medical care.
Speaking ahead of the game, stand-in coach Sergio Allegre stressed the importance of maintaining their momentum as they look to strengthen their position at the top of the table.
“The match against Umm Salal will certainly be difficult. We expect a very tough contest and must give 100% to secure the three points,” Sergio said during the pre-match press conference.
Al Sadd are determined to maintain their current form and continue on the path that has kept them among the league’s strongest sides this season.
“Our objective is to keep winning and extend our lead in the Doha Bank Stars League,” he added.
Star forward Akram Afif also underlined the significance of the upcoming fixture.
“The next match is very important for us, and the three points mean a lot,” Afif said. “From now on, every remaining league match is crucial, and we must aim to win all of them.”
