DOHA: Qatar’s debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans marks a significant step in raising the country’s profile in international motorsport, Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) and Lusail International Circuit President Abdulrahman Abdullatif Al Mannai said.
Team Qatar will compete in the June 13-14 race at the Circuit de la Sarthe in France, in what Al Mannai described as a historic first participation for the Gulf state in one of the world’s most prestigious endurance events.

“This participation represents both an honour and a responsibility,” Al Mannai said in press remarks, adding that it underlined QMMF’s strategic commitment to expanding Qatar’s presence on the global motorsport stage and promoting national talent internationally.
He said the team’s strong performances in the Middle East Endurance Championship over the past two seasons, combined with intensive preparations, had boosted confidence in its technical readiness and ability to compete against leading manufacturers and drivers.
Al Mannai said the Le Mans entry formed part of a long-term vision to create new opportunities for Qatari drivers and engineers and inspire the next generation.
Qatar will compete in partnership with Italian outfit Iron Lynx. Further details, including the driver line-up and car category, will be announced in due course.
