DOHA: The Qatar Shooting and Archery Association will host the 2026 Nishan Ramadan Shooting Championship at the Lusail Shooting Complex from Feb. 27 to March 8, the governing body said.
Held annually under the slogan “Ramadan Challenge,” the community tournament is one of the association’s flagship events and attracts both amateur and professional shooters in a competitive Ramadan setting.
The championship will feature air rifle and air pistol contests, archery competitions, as well as skeet and trap shotgun events, offering participants the opportunity to compete across multiple disciplines.
Organisers have divided the competitions into amateur, junior and professional categories in a bid to widen participation and strengthen the sport’s grassroots base in Qatar.
Total prize money of 500,000 riyals ($137,000) has been allocated for the event, aiming to raise the level of competition and increase incentives for participants.
The championship also serves as a platform to identify and nurture young Qatari talent, in line with the association’s strategy to bolster national teams ahead of regional and international competitions.
