DOHA, Feb 19 (Reuters) – Al Shahaniya SC assistant coach Bazman Montazeri said his side face a stern test against Qatar SC in the 16th round of the Doha Bank Stars League on Thursday.
“The match against Qatar SC will be as difficult as all the matches that came before and will come after,” Montazeri told reporters. “We consider all our remaining matches to be cup finals.”
He praised Qatar SC’s quality, describing them as a team with strong potential and a number of outstanding players.
Montazeri said Al-Shahaniya’s main issue this season has been a lack of cutting edge in front of goal.
“We create many opportunities, but unfortunately luck has not been on our side,” he said. “We need to be more fortunate, but we will also work to improve our effectiveness. We have faith in our abilities and potential.”
The assistant coach added that his players are working hard to raise their level as the team battles to preserve its top-flight status.
Al-Shahaniya player Mohammed Bader Sayyar also highlighted the importance of the encounter.
“We are working hard to achieve our goal,” he said. “We must avoid mistakes, take advantage of our chances and solve the finishing problem. Hopefully, we can secure the three points and remain in the league.”
