Dubai, United Arab Emirates : All-rounder Cole McConchie has replaced the injured Michael Bracewell in New Zealand’s squad for the ongoing Twenty20 World Cup after the tournament’s technical committee approved the change, the International Cricket Council said on Monday.
Bracewell tore his calf during a 50-over match against India last month and, although he recovered in time for the tournament, aggravated the injury in warm-ups before New Zealand’s campaign opener against Afghanistan on Feb. 8.
McConchie, a middle-order batter and right-arm spinner, has played 12 T20 internationals for New Zealand, with his most recent appearance coming in April 2024.
New Zealand, who have won two of their three Group D matches, face Canada on Tuesday as they bid to secure qualification for the Super Eight stage.
