DOHA: Umm Salal completed the line-up for the quarter-finals of the 2026 Emir Cup with a 4-2 victory over Al Ahli in the final round-of-16 match, played last night at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.
Al Ahli took the lead in the 37th minute through Eric Exposito, but Cristo Perez equalised for Umm Salal four minutes later.The lead changed hands again early in the second half when Omar Seko put Al Ahli back in front in the 49th minute, only for Perez to respond almost immediately with his second goal in the 52nd.
Umm Salal moved ahead for the first time in the 55th minute through Ahmed Abdel-Maqsoud before Perez completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot in the 68th minute to seal the win.The victory sets up a quarter-final meeting for Umm Salal against Al Gharafa in the 54th edition of the Emir Cup.
