DOHA: The draw for the 2026 AFC U-17 Championship, held on Wednesday at the Asian Football Confederation headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, placed Qatar in Group B alongside Japan, Indonesia and China.
The tournament will run from May 5 to 22 and will feature 16 teams divided into four groups.Group A includes hosts Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Thailand and Myanmar.
Group C comprises South Korea, Yemen, Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates, while Group D features Uzbekistan, Australia, India and North Korea.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals of the 2026 AFC U-17 Championship. The eight quarter-finalists will also secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup, which will be hosted by Qatar.
