DOHA: Al Rayyan will host Yemen’s Tadhamon Hadramout at Saud Bin Abdul Rahman Stadium on Wednesday in a fifth-round Group Two match of the Gulf Champions League.
The Qatari side sit top of the group with six points from four matches and are looking to consolidate their position ahead of the knockout stage.Al Rayyan are aiming to repeat their dominant 5-0 victory over Tadhamon Hadramout in the first leg at Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium as they push for a place in the semi-finals.
The match also forms part of their broader momentum-building effort in domestic competition, with the club targeting a strong finish among the top four in the Doha Stars League.Portuguese coach Arthur Jorge has underlined the importance of maintaining focus as his side seek to clear the Yemeni hurdle and continue their progress in the regional competition.
Under the tournament format, organised by the Arabian Gulf Cup Football Federation, the top two teams from each group qualify for the semi-finals, which will be played over two legs on a home-and-away basis.
