DOHA : A National Sports Day event organised by Qatar’s Ministry of Interior and the Internal Security Force “Lekhwiya”, in cooperation with Visit Qatar and Media City, has been awarded a Guinness World Records certificate for creating the largest temporary sports arena.
The arena, set up at Stadium 974, covered an area of 113,169.68 square metres, surpassing the minimum requirement of 4,025 square metres set by Guinness World Records after meeting all approved criteria and conditions.
Praveen Patel, a representative of Guinness World Records, announced the achievement during a ceremony held as part of the National Sports Day activities and presented the official certificate to Colonel Ahmed bin Hamad Al Thani, Vice President of the Qatar Police Sports Federation, representing the Ministry of Interior and Lekhwiya.
The certificate was also received by Hamad Omar Al-Mannai, CEO of Media City, and Ahmed Hamad Al-Binali, Director of Events and Festivals at Visit Qatar, in the presence of several officials and partners.
