DOHA: The organizing committee of the Doha Equestrian Tour has announced the completion of all preparations for the launch of the HH The Amir’s Sword Equestrian Championships, set to take place at the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab from February 11 to 14.
The prestigious event will feature 283 riders and 599 horses, with total prize money exceeding €2 million.
The announcement was made during a press conference held at Al Shaqab, a member of Qatar Foundation, attended by Bader bin Mohammed Al Darwish, President of the Qatar Equestrian Federation and a member of the organizing committee, Salmeen Al Suwaidi, the tournament’s Sports Director, and Abdullah Al Qashouti, Director of Marketing and Communications, alongside representatives of sponsors, tournament committees, and local and regional media.

The Grand Prix stands out as the centerpiece of the championship, offering prize money of €1.5 million. Recognized as one of the most significant show jumping events worldwide, the Grand Prix attracts elite international riders and is renowned for its exceptionally high level of competition.
As the fifth stop of the Doha Equestrian Tour 2026, the championship will begin on Wednesday with two five-star rounds at heights of 140 cm and 150 cm in the outdoor arena.
Competitions will continue on Thursday with nine rounds, including three rounds each for the one-star and five-star categories, three three-star rounds qualifying for the World Cup, two local rounds at 60 cm, and an international dressage competition.
In addition, the Longines outdoor arena will host the Hermès Sellers Grand Prix qualifying competition at a height of 155 cm, featuring a jump-off round.
