DOHA : beIN SPORTS said on Tuesday it recorded its highest-ever viewership for the Africa Cup of Nations during its multilingual coverage of the TotalEnergies AFCON Morocco 2025, with more than 3.45 billion cumulative views across its television and digital platforms.

The month-long tournament, held from Dec. 21, 2025, to Jan. 18, 2026, drew a record 1.75 billion cumulative television viewers, a 127% increase from the 770 million recorded for the 2023 edition, the broadcaster said.

The final, played in Rabat on Jan. 18, saw Senegal defeat hosts Morocco 1-0 after extra time to secure their second title in five years. Pape Gueye’s decisive goal was watched by 97.3 million viewers across beIN SPORTS’ 24 markets in the Middle East and North Africa, up from 33.2 million for the 2023 final, an increase of 193%.

The most-watched match of the tournament, however, was Egypt’s Group B clash against Zimbabwe. Mohamed Salah’s stoppage-time winner in a 2-1 victory attracted 98.3 million viewers, beIN said.

Digital platforms also posted record figures, with 12.66 million viewers watching live matches on beIN SPORTS’ Facebook, X and YouTube accounts, and 1.06 million tuning in via the beIN CONNECT platform. Cumulative engagement across the broadcaster’s social media accounts reached 133.4 million interactions, while total video views rose to 1.68 billion, up from 846 million in 2023.

“Our exclusive and live coverage confirmed the immense passion for African football in the region and cemented beIN’s position as the premier destination for this tournament,” Mohammed Al-Subaey, CEO of beIN Middle East and North Africa, said in a statement.

beIN Media Group has broadcast the Africa Cup of Nations since 2008 under a long-standing partnership with the Confederation of African Football. For the 2025 edition, beIN SPORTS provided exclusive coverage of all 52 matches in Arabic, English and French via its beIN SPORTS MAX channels.
