DOHA: American golfer Patrick Reed was crowned champion of the 29th edition of the Qatar Masters Golf Championship, which concluded today at Doha Golf Club after four days of high-level competition. The tournament, which began last Thursday, featured 144 world-ranked professional golfers representing 44 countries.
The final round saw fierce competition among the leading trio of Patrick Reed, Scotland’s Callum Hill, and Denmark’s Jacob Skov Olesen. Reed ultimately secured the title with a total score of 16-under-par, finishing two strokes ahead of Hill, who claimed second place at 14-under-par. Olesen took third place with 13-under-par, tying with American Johannes Veerman.
Strong Field and Tight Leaderboard
Four players shared fifth place at 12-under-par: Spain’s Angel Ayora, Finland’s Oliver Lindell, Sweden’s Sebastian Soderberg, and England’s Dan Bradbury.
Meanwhile, ninth place was jointly held by five players—Italy’s Gregorio De Leo, New Zealand’s David Michaluzzi, France’s Antoine Rozner, New Zealand’s Kazuma Kobori, and South Africa’s Jayden Schaper—each finishing the tournament at 11-under-par.

President of the Qatar Golf Federation, Hamad Abdullah Al Mannai, expressed his delight at the tournament’s remarkable success, highlighting the elite level of competition and the participation of top world-ranked golfers.
In press statements, Al Mannai noted that the high standard of play added a distinctive character to the championship and enhanced its excitement, reaffirming its status as one of the key stops on the DP World Tour. He emphasized that the event’s continued success was made possible by the unlimited support of the Qatar Olympic Committee, which has played a major role in elevating the championship’s global standing.
Al Mannai added that widespread praise from players and DP World Tour officials reflects the high level of organization and professionalism demonstrated by the State of Qatar in hosting major international sporting events. He stressed that the championship not only showcased elite competition but also contributed to sports tourism, the promotion of golf culture, and the development of national talent.
Officials Commend Organization and Course Quality
Secretary-General of the Qatar Golf Federation, Fahad Nasser Al Nuaimi, also praised the tournament’s success, attributing it to the participation of distinguished world-ranked players and the strong spectator turnout, particularly on the final day.
Al Nuaimi highlighted the intense competition throughout the championship, aided by favorable weather conditions and the exceptional quality of the Doha Golf Club course, which he said meets international standards. He added that Reed fully deserved the title, having led the standings since the opening round.
He further noted that the federation received widespread praise from the European Tour and professional players for the excellent course conditions and outstanding organization.
Reed Celebrates Fifth DP World Tour Victory
Reed, ranked 25th in the world, claimed his fifth DP World Tour title with the victory. The American golfer expressed his happiness at winning the Qatar Masters, describing the competition as extremely strong until the final round.
Reed said that competing in a tournament of the Qatar Masters’ caliber was never easy due to the presence of many of the world’s top players. He added that he never lost confidence in his ability to win, crediting his determination and focus for securing first place.
