DOHA : The draw for the 2026 Qatar TotalEnergies Open, the first WTA 1000 women’s tennis tournament of the season, was held on Thursday at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha.

The event will be played on outdoor hard courts from Feb. 8-14, with qualifying rounds already underway and the main draw beginning on Sunday.

Three-time Doha champion Iga Swiatek of Poland headlines the field alongside Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina, who arrives after success at the Australian Open, and defending champion Amanda Anisimova of the United States.

Other leading contenders include Coco Gauff, Mirra Andreeva, Jasmine Paolini and Elina Svitolina, all seeded among the top players in the draw.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus, the 2020 Doha champion, has withdrawn after adjusting her schedule following the Australian Open. Her place in the main draw has been taken by Emiliana Arango and Cristina Bucsa.

The top eight seeds have received byes into the second round.

The draw has set up several potential high-profile matchups, including a possible later-round meeting between Rybakina and Andreeva, while Anisimova faces a challenging route in her bid to defend the title.

The tournament features 56 players in the singles draw and 32 teams in doubles, with total prize money exceeding $4.08 million and valuable ranking points on offer.
