DOHA : Al Arabi welcome Al Shamal to Al Thumama Stadium on Tuesday in a key fifteenth-round match of the Doha Bank Stars League, with both sides aiming to strengthen their positions in the standings.
Third-placed Al Shamal, on 25 points, will be eager to stay in the title race after being held to a disappointing goalless draw by Al Sailiya in the previous round.
Al Arabi, meanwhile, come into the match in strong form. They returned to winning ways with a 4-2 victory over Umm Salal, recording their fifth win in the last seven matches since the appointment of Romanian coach Cosmin Contra. That run also includes one draw and one defeat, lifting them to fifth place on 23 points.
With only two points separating the sides, the encounter is expected to be closely contested as Al Shamal look to keep pace with the leaders and Al Arabi seek to continue their recent rise.
