DOHA : Qatar international defender Bassam Al-Rawi is set to make the 270th appearance of his career when Al-Duhail take on Umm Salal at the start of the 15th round of the Doha Bank Stars League in the 2025/2026 season.
Al-Rawi has featured 269 times for club and country, representing Al-Duhail, Al-Rayyan and Belgian side Eupen, as well as the Qatari national team. During that spell, the defender has won 12 titles, including nine at club level.
His most notable achievements came with the national team, where he helped Qatar lift the AFC Asian Cup in 2019 and again in 2023, in addition to winning the Friendship Cup in Iraq in 2018.
Al-Rawi also took part in the 2022 World Cup on home soil and played a role in Qatar’s qualification campaigns, contributing to the country’s first-ever appearance at the World Cup and helping secure qualification for a second consecutive finals at the 2026 tournament.
At youth level, Al-Rawi represented Qatar’s under-19 and under-23 teams and was part of the squad that qualified the Olympic team for the 2018 AFC U-23 Championship finals after topping their qualifying group.
He is one of eight Qatari players who have collectively featured in all of the national team’s major achievements in recent years, alongside Hassan Al-Haydos, Akram Afif, Almoez Ali, Boualem Khoukhi, Tarek Salman, Pedro Miguel and Abdulaziz Hatem.
