DOHA: Qatar SC defeated Al Khor in straight sets on Sunday in the men’s Volleyball League, which features 10 clubs and is being played at the Qatar Volleyball Association hall.
The victory lifted Qatar SC to 22 points and fifth place in the standings, while Al Khor stayed seventh on 11 points.
League action continues on Wednesday with two matches. Second-placed Al Arabi, on 30 points, face Al Ahli, who are sixth with 18 points, while eighth-placed Al Shamal, on 11 points, meet fourth-placed Police SC, who have 27.
League leaders Al Wakrah, on 34 points, will travel to Kuwait along with Al Rayyan to compete in the fourth edition of the West Asia Volleyball Championship, scheduled from February 4 to 14.
In the women’s competition, the youth national team defeated Al Sadd 3-1. Play resumes on Tuesday with three matches: Al Rayyan against Al Wakrah, Al Arabi versus Al Khor, and Qatar SC facing Al Ahli.
