LONDON : Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham could become the subject of a surprise transfer battle in the coming months, with English media reporting growing Premier League interest ahead of the next transfer window.
Bellingham joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023 for a fee reported to be in excess of 100 million euros, making him one of the most expensive signings in the Spanish club’s history.
The England international enjoyed an immediate impact in Madrid, playing a key role in the club’s Champions League triumph in the 2023-24 season and their subsequent UEFA Super Cup victory.
However, his attacking returns have dipped slightly this season, with Bellingham scoring six goals and providing four assists in 27 appearances across all competitions.
According to English press reports, Chelsea are showing strong interest in the 20-year-old midfielder and are preparing a potential offer of up to 150 million euros.
Bellingham began his professional career at Birmingham City before moving to Borussia Dortmund and later to La Liga with Real Madrid. He remains under contract with the Spanish champions until the summer of 2029, a factor that gives Real Madrid a strong position in any potential negotiations.
