SAO PAULO : Brazilian media reports said the Brazilian Football Confederation and Carlo Ancelotti have reached a verbal agreement to extend the Italian coach’s contract with the national team through to the 2030 World Cup finals.
According to the reports, a formal contract is expected to be signed in February once final details are completed, reflecting confidence among federation officials in Ancelotti’s experience and his ability to keep Brazil competitive at the highest level in the coming years, including at the 2026 World Cup.
CBF officials see the renewal as a signal of technical stability, banking on Ancelotti’s track record in major tournaments, his work with elite players and a calm leadership style that has, according to the reports, resonated within the squad.
The proposed agreement would give Ancelotti a broad mandate to build for the long term, blending experienced players with emerging talent as Brazil seek to restore their status among the world’s leading football nations.
The reports come amid speculation that Real Madrid could be interested in bringing Ancelotti back in the future.
