Doha: Al Wakrah defeated Al Gharafa 3-1 on Monday in the second round of the Qatar Men’s Volleyball League, which is being held at the Qatar Volleyball Association Hall with 10 clubs competing.
Al Wakrah recovered after dropping the opening set to claim the match with set scores of 19-25, 25-16, 25-14 and 26-24.
The victory kept Al Wakrah top of the standings with 28 points, while Al Gharafa remained ninth on four points.
In the day’s other match, Al Rayyan beat Al Ahli 3-0, winning 25-22, 26-24 and 25-23.
Al Rayyan moved into third place with 22 points, while Al Ahli stayed sixth with 16 points.
The league’s second round will resume next Thursday with a single match between second-placed Al Arabi, who have 24 points, and bottom side Al Sadd, who have two points.
