DOHA : Al Shamal secured an 80-76 victory over Al Wakrah on Monday at Al Gharafa Hall in the 15th round of the second division of the 2025–2026 Basketball League.
Al Wakrah led after the first quarter, 29-19, but Al Shamal rallied over the final three periods, outscoring their opponents 20-19, 20-12 and 21-16 to seal the win.
Aaron Randolph Mitchell led Al Wakrah with 26 points, providing a consistent offensive threat, but his performance was not enough to prevent defeat.
For Al Shamal, Shane Legend Rector topped the scoring with 20 points and played a key role in the closing stages of the game.
The win lifted Al Shamal to 21 points, keeping them sixth in the standings, while Al Wakrah remained fifth with 22 points after a loss that exposed defensive issues.
