DOHA: The Referees Committee of the Qatar Football Association has released explanatory video clips highlighting the key refereeing decisions from Round 13 of the Doha Bank Stars League for the 2025/2026 season.
The matches were played on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, January 15, 16, and 17, as part of the committee’s ongoing commitment to transparency and to providing the sporting public with accurate information regarding refereeing decisions in each round.
The committee emphasized that publishing these videos is part of a continuous approach aimed at explaining refereeing decisions and clarifying the legal foundations on which match officials base their calls. This initiative seeks to strengthen confidence in the refereeing system and reduce controversy surrounding influential match incidents.
Round 13 featured several notable refereeing decisions, most prominently in the match between Al Arabi and Al Gharafa. In the 82nd minute, the referee made the correct decision—following a VAR review—to issue a red card to Al Gharafa’s No. 9 for violent conduct. The Referees Committee also clarified that Al Arabi’s No. 10 should have received a yellow card for unsporting behavior, noting that the incident falls under Law 12 of the Laws of the Game, which covers fouls and misconduct.
