TUNIS: For the first time in their history, Qatar’s Police team captured the title of the 44th Arab Clubs Men’s Volleyball Championship, defeating Tunisia’s Étoile Sportive du Sahel 3-1 in the final on Sunday.

Police prevailed with set scores of 25-20, 24-26, 25-22 and 25-21 to lift the trophy in a tournament held in Tunisia with the participation of 11 clubs. The triumph made Police only the second Qatari side to win the Arab title after Al Rayyan, champions in 2018, 2019 and 2022.

The victory marked a deserved breakthrough for Police on their third consecutive attempt to claim the crown, having finished third and fourth in the 2024 and 2025 editions. Despite a modest start in the group stage, where they placed fourth in Group B, the team surged in the knockout rounds, eliminating Espérance Sportive de Tunis in the quarterfinals and Libya’s Al Suwaheely in the semifinals.

Police were awarded the championship trophy and gold medals, while Étoile Sportive du Sahel settled for silver. Bahrain’s Al-Muharraq SC claimed bronze after defeating Al Suwaheely SC 3-0 in the third-place match.

In classification matches, Espérance Sportive de Tunis finished fifth ahead of Qatar SC in sixth. Libya’s Al Ittihad SC placed seventh, followed by Oman’s Al Seeb SC in eighth. Algeria’s Tajnant SC secured ninth, Majees SC of Oman finished tenth, and Palestinian Forces Club ended the tournament in eleventh.

Al Ahly SC of Egypt were the defending champions from the 2023 edition, followed by Al Suwaheely SC of Libya in 2024 and Zamalek SC of Egypt in 2025.
