Al Sailiya beat Qatar SC 2-1 in the final match of the 13th round of the Doha Bank Stars League at Hamad Al Kabir Stadium on Sunday.
Abdulrahman Mohammed put Al Sailiya ahead in the 73rd minute before Portuguese defender Diego Amaro doubled the lead in the 84th. Qatar SC pulled one back through Brazilian forward Joao Pedro in the 80th minute but could not find an equaliser.
The win lifted Al Sailiya to 10th place with 11 points, while Qatar SC stayed seventh on 17 points.
Al Sailiya controlled possession early in the match and created several chances, including a corner by Younes Belhanda that Anwar El Ghazi headed over the bar in the 11th minute. Qatar SC threatened on the counter, with Joao Pedro forcing a save from Al Sailiya goalkeeper Fahad Younis in the 38th minute.
