DOHA: Al Duhail were frustrated in their bid for points as they were held to a 0-0 draw by bottom-placed Al Shahania at Al Khor Stadium on Thursday in the 12th round of the Qatar Stars League.
The stalemate lifted Al Duhail to seventh place in the standings with 16 points, while Al Shahania remained rooted to the foot of the table on eight points.
Clear-cut chances were at a premium in a tightly contested encounter, with both sides struggling to impose themselves in attack. Al Shahania goalkeeper Salah Zakaria and his Al Duhail counterpart Shehab Al Laithi played key roles, each producing timely saves to keep their goal intact.
Al Duhail pressed for a late breakthrough, with Krzysztof Piatek and Youssouf Sabaly both going close in the closing stages, but the breakthrough proved elusive.
In the end, neither side could find a way past the opposing defence, as the match ended goalless at Al Khor
