Doha: The 31st edition of Qatar International Open Table Tennis Championship gets underway — WTT Champions Doha 2026 — today at Lusail Sports Arena, with the participation of the sport’s elite stars and top-ranked players worldwide.
Five days of top-level excitement and high-intensity action await.
The Qatar Table Tennis Federation, headed by Hamad Al Hammadi, announced the hosting of a distinguished global series of World Table Tennis (WTT) events throughout January 2026, in a month-long celebration bringing together the game’s biggest names from across the globe, with broad participation representing more than 50 countries.
The series kicks off with WTT Champions Doha 2026 from 7 to 11 January at Lusail Sports Arena, featuring 64 players (32 men and 32 women) from the world’s top rankings.
The five-day competition promises thrilling clashes from the very first rounds, following the official draw ceremony that revealed several heavyweight matchups in the opening round.
Following the conclusion of the opening tournament, action continues with WTT Star Contender Doha from 13 to 18 January, featuring 170 players.
The spotlight then shifts to future stars with WTT Youth Contender Doha (19–22 January) and WTT Youth Star Contender Doha (23–25 January), both attracting a wide range of young talents from across continents.
The series concludes with WTT Feeder Doha from 27 to 31 January, offering players a valuable opportunity to earn world ranking points, with 114 players taking part — a final stop that highlights the comprehensive and diverse nature of the program and underlines Doha’s pivotal role in supporting all levels of the sport.
