Al Ahli and Al Sadd continued their strong performances in the second phase of the General Basketball League championship for the 2025–2026 season, achieving important victories on Wednesday, December 31, at the Al Rayyan Club hall.
In the first match, Al Ahli defeated Qatar SC 98–83, confirming their technical superiority. Al Ahli dominated the first half, winning the first quarter 33–22 and the second 25–12 to build a comfortable lead. Despite Qatar SC winning the third (21–19) and fourth quarters (28–21), Al Ahli controlled the game until the final whistle. Qatar SC’s Joshua Morris Nicholas was the top scorer with 31 points, while Al Ahli’s Raekwon Deshaun Rogers scored 30 points. Youssef Yaqoub of Al Ahli was named the best Qatari player of the match.
With this result, Al Ahli raised their tally to 18 points in third place, while Qatar SC remained seventh with 13 points.
In the second match, Al Sadd overcame Al Khor 101–91 in a closely contested game. Al Sadd won the first two quarters (28–22, 23–22), tied the third (24–24), and secured the win in the final quarter (26–23). Jesse Jones Jr. led Al Khor with 34 points, while Malik Antonio Tobin scored 29 points for Al Sadd. Mustafa Fouda was named the best Qatari player.
Al Sadd moved to 16 points in fourth place, while Al Khor stayed ninth with 11 points.
