Doha: Khalil bin Ahmed Al-Mohannadi has decided not to run for a new term as President of the Qatar Table Tennis Association after more than 30 years in office.
The curtain officially falls today, (Monday) on one of the most successful and longest administrative tenures in the history of Qatari sports administration.
Al-Mohannadi’s decision will bring an end a journey that spanned more than three decades of dedicated leadership.
This decision coincides with the current Board members also choosing not to seek re-election, a move that reflects strong institutional awareness and a commitment to sustainable development and renewal.
The decision will be announced during today’s General Assembly meeting.
New era under Hamad Al-Hammadi
As part of a smooth transition into the next phase, the General Assembly is set to endorse the election of Hamad Al-Hammadi, former table tennis legend and the sole candidate, as the new President of QTTA.
