DOHA: Al Shahania marked a winning return to the Doha Bank Stars League after the break with a commanding 3-0 victory over table toppers Al Gharafa in Week 11 at the Al Khor Stadium on Saturday.
In only their second win of the campaign, Al Shahania produced a clinical display to humble the league leaders and lift their points tally to seven, keeping them 11th in the standings. Al Gharafa, meanwhile, stayed on 25 points after suffering just their second defeat of the season.
Mohammed Sayyar set the tone early with a quick brace, striking in the fourth and 22nd minutes to put Al Shahania firmly in control. Lofti Majder added the finishing touch in the 64th minute, sealing a memorable result and one of the standout upsets of the season so far.
