DOHA:The General Assembly of the West Asian Weightlifting Federation, meeting in Doha on the sidelines of the ongoing combined championships, has elected a new Board of Directors for the 2025–2029 term.
The elections were held during the 10th Qatar Cup, the Arab Weightlifting Championship and the West Asian Championship, with representatives from Arab and West Asian national federations in attendance.
Newly Elected Board Members:
- President: Mohammed Kazim Mazal (Iraq)
- Secretary General: Mustafa Saleh (Iraq)
- First Vice President: Ibrahim Al Amyan (Jordan)
- Second Vice President: Dr. Basel Ibrahim (Syria)
Executive Committee Members:
- Ahmed Al Ahmadi (Saudi Arabia)
- Aidh Al Mandhari (Oman)
- Khalid Al Doy (Bahrain)
- Mohammed Al Naqbi (United Arab Emirates)
- Mohammed Al Khamisi (Yemen)
- Raed Al Saqqa (Palestine)
The inclusion of Palestine’s Raed Al Saqqa was highlighted as a step reinforcing cooperation and integration among national federations, reflecting the Federation’s commitment to broad regional representation.
