DOHA, Qatar — The Qatar Football Association launched its winter training camp for elite referees on Sunday, as preparations intensify for the second half of the domestic football season.
The five-day camp, running from Sunday to Thursday at the Hilton Doha Hotel, is designed to enhance referees’ technical and physical readiness ahead of matches in the Doha Bank Stars League, other domestic competitions organised by the QFA and the Qatar Stars League Foundation, as well as upcoming international assignments.
The programme includes fitness training, on-field practical sessions, analytical workshops, briefings on the latest amendments to the Laws of the Game, and instruction on the use of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology.
A group of technical instructors, fitness coaches and referee assessors will lead the sessions, supported by medical, technical and administrative staff from the QFA Referees Department.
All participating officials have already passed mandatory fitness tests, which were conducted at Aspire facilities and are a prerequisite for taking part in the camp.
The schedule also features a final assessment covering technical, physical and medical aspects. Classroom sessions will be held in the mornings, with practical training and fitness work scheduled for the evenings, as the association seeks to ensure referees are fully prepared for the resumption of competitions.
