Al Shamal and Al Arabi continued their strong performances in the Qatar Basketball League for the 2025-2026 season, securing victories in the sixth round against Qatar Club and Al Ahli Club respectively.
In the first match, played on the evening of Saturday, December 6, 2025, Al Shamal imposed their dominance from the start, finishing the first quarter 25-15, before extending their lead in the second quarter 28-23.
Al Shamal did not let up and decisively won the third quarter 31-18, making the outcome seem settled, despite a late surge by Qatar Club in the fourth quarter, which they won 24-21.
Shine Legend Rector stood out for Al Shamal as the game’s top scorer with 36 points, while Joshua Morris Nicholas was Qatar’s star player, scoring 31 points in a valiant but unsuccessful effort to close the gap.
With this victory, Al Shamal raised their points tally to 10, tying with Al Rayyan at the top of the standings, while Qatar Club reached 6 points, placing them eighth (second-to-last).
In the second match, Al Arabi claimed victory over Al Ahli by a 7-point margin, 85-78, in a closely contested game full of momentum swings.
Al Ahli started strongly and took the first quarter 17-15, then extended their advantage in the second quarter 24-19. However, Al Arabi roared back in the third quarter, dominating 27-17 to seize control heading into the final period. Al Ahli fought back in the fourth quarter, winning it 25-19, but were unable to overturn the final result.
Bahraini player Mustafa Hussain led Al Arabi with 24 points, while Al Ahli’s top scorer was Mustapha Ndiaye with 18 points.
With this win, Al Arabi also reached 10 points, joining Al Rayyan and Al Shamal at the top of the table, while Al Ahli sit on 8 points in sixth place.
