DOHA: Jorge Martin has qualified on pole position for the fifth time in MotoGP and the second successive time in
Lusail after the 2021 Doha GP.

This is Ducati’s third pole in a row in Lusail with Jorge Martin in 2021/2 and 2022, added to pole for Francesco Bagnaia in 2021/1. This is also Ducati’s seventh successive pole in MotoGP (a sequence that started in Aragon) equalling their longest sequence from 2008 with Casey Stoner from Catalunya to San Marino.

Enea Bastianini has qualified second for his best qualifying since he stepped up to MotoGP last year, as well as his first front row in the class. He will be aiming to stand on the podium for the third time in the class along with San Marino and Emilia-Romagna last year when he was third.

Marc Marquez has qualified third for his first front row since he was also third last year in Austin on his way to winning the race. This is his seventh successive front row in Lusail in MotoGP.

On his six previous front row starts at the track, he took four podiums including a win in 2014 (his only win at the track in MotoGP).

In addition, on Sunday, Marc Marquez will be aiming to stand on the podium for 100th time in MotoGP.

Jack Miller has qualified fourth, which is the fourth successive time he starts from the front two rows of the grid. His best result at Lusail in MotoGP is an eighth-place finish in 2017 (riding a Honda).

Aleix Espargaro has qualified fifth, which is the best qualifying result for an Aprilia rider at Lusail so far in MotoGP. He will be aiming to give Aprilia their second podium since the introduction of MotoGP in 2002 along with Silverstone last year, when he was third.
