DOHA: Defending champions Al Sadd consolidated lead in the Qatar Stars League by defeating Al Gharafa 5-1 at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Saturday.
Abdulkarim Hassan, Rodrigo Tabata, Santi Cazorla, Andre Ayew and Akram Afif scored for Sadd while Gabriel Perez scored the only goal for Al Gharafa.
Al Sadd continued to lead the points tally with 43 from 15 matches while Al Gharafa remained at fourth (26 points).
The last round saw Al Sadd beat Al Arabi (4-2), and Al Gharafa beat Qatar Club (3-2).
In the next round, Al Sadd will face Umm Salal while Al Gharafa will compete against Al Khor.
