DOHA (Qatar): Al Sadd coach Xavi Hernandez said his target would be to keep the team’s good performance on track ahead of Al Ahli match on Saturday.

“I think they (Al Ahli) are not going through their best period now because they started very well and then lost some games. Yet, they have a good team and strong character. They have a coach who does very well, so we cannot relax and we have to continue our good work.

“Of course, we have a great advantage, but we have to maintain the good lead and win the title as soon as possible.

“We enjoy training and games, and we have to maintain this level. It is a matter of focus and mentality, and we have to continue with this passion and ambition. We are the favourites to win against everyone now, but we cannot relax and we still need to win many games.

“Everything depends on us now and if we win three games in a row, we will win the title. It will be the most important title in my opinion because it means that we had a really great season,” said Xavi.

Al Sadd player Hossam Kamal said, “All forthcoming matches will be difficult because teams will aggressively seek points through victories in order to better their position.

“We will try to be in our best form against Al Ahli. Our goal is to appear in a positive way and present the level that satisfies our fans and that will help us collect all three points.

“The lead of 13 points over our nearest rivals is a motivation for us. Our goal is to keep performing at the same level and achieve victory in all remaining matches.” (Source: QSL)
