DOHA (Qatar): FIFA Club World Cup will allow 30 per cent fans at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium and Education City Stadium, the organisers said here on Saturday.

The tournament will be held in the Qatari capital from February 4 and will end on February 11.

Dr Abdul Wahab Al Musleh, Senior Consultant to the Minister of Public Health said at a press conference at the Qational National Convention Centre that three categories of fans will be allowed to attend the matches. 

“All participants in FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar must prove that they are not infected with Covid-19 before arrival and then conduct a corona test at the airport before entering the bubble system here,” he said.

First, those who have received the second dose of vaccine – a week after their second shot – without any tests. 

The second category are those who contracted the virus after October 1 and are recovered can also purchase ticket without having to be tested. 

The third group are those who will have to undergo tests 48 or 72 hours prior to a match, get tested at QNCC and clear the test to attend the match.

Hotel quarantine will be mandatory for media professionals coming from outside Qatar to cover the event.

Tickets for some matches are already available

Tickets for some matches are already available to the general public. FIFA expects further tickets for all matches including the Final to become available in the coming days. Ticket prices range from QAR 10 for a category 3 ticket for the first five matches up to QAR 300 for a category 1 ticket for the final.

The FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2020 will see the world’s top teams come together next month to compete for the most prestigious honour in global club football.

In addition to home team Al Duhail, powerhouses Al Ahly SC, FC Bayern Munich, Ulsan Hyundai FC and Tigres UANL have joined the line-up for the tournament.

The field will be completed by the winners of the CONMEBOL Libertadores final, which is scheduled for 30 January.
