DOHA (Qatar): The Women’s Basketball League, organized by the Qatar Women’s Sports Committee in cooperation with the Qatar League for the Game, began on Monday.
Eight teams are scheduled to participate in this year’s competition that will be held until December 24.
Pinay Ballers Qatar, Hustlers, Space Jam Team and pro Sports are in Group A while Qatar Women National, Fighters, QB hoops and Boom Generals are in the second group.
League matches will be played in two stages while the second round will be held based on the results of first stage.
Salha Al Nuaimi, Director of the Qatar National Teams at the Qatar Women’s Sports Committee, expressed her happiness at the return of the committee’s sporting activity after a long hiatus as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
“The league competitions this season will take place in a short period of time, just over a month and a half at the Aspire Zone gym on Mondays and Thursdays,” said Al Nuaimi.
