DOHA (Qatar): Defending champions Al Wakrah beat reigning Amir and Qatar Cup champions Al Duhail 21-20 in the Qatar Handball League semifinals on Thursday evening.
Wakrah will face Al Arabi in the final on Sunday while Duhail will face Al Ahli in the third-fourth playoff.
Arabi had beaten Ahli 26-22 in the other semis.
The Qatar Handball Association resumed the men’s category competitions for the sports season 2019/2020 on September 10 after the outbreak of Covid19 had stopped activities in March.
The League was suspended after the 5th round of the participation of Al Shamal, Al Arabi and Al Ahly teams in the Arab Championship of the Clubs Cup Winners in its 15th edition that was held in March in the city of Bani Khiar in the Tunisian state of Nabeul.
